Q. Do you have any kind of guarantee for your service?

A. Yes, Real Green stands behind its service. "You take no risk whatsoever with Real Green Lawn Care. You must be fully satisfied with every treatment. If not, simply let us know and we'll immediately make things right. We are never satisfied until you are."

Q. Is there a contract to sign?

A. No, There is no contract to sign and you may cancel at any time. Real Green has several easy payment options to choose from including a "pay as you go" and discounted "single payment" plan.

Q. How safe are your applications [for my pets, kids]?

A. "If you can't say it, we wont spray it" Real Green's granular fertilizers are not considered hazardous materials. There is no record of human or pet injury, resulting from a Real Green Lawn Care fertilizer application. While no lawn pest control material may legally be classified as 'completely safe', our weed and insect controls are termed 'practically non-toxic', the lowest pesticide toxicity classification. These products are all registered for use on home lawns and contain many of the same active ingredients as the products you buy at the local nursery or garden store. Used by our professional technicians in strict compliance with labeled instructions, they do not represent any significant threat to your family or pets.

Q. Can you get rid of ground ivy? It seems to take over our side yard every year.

A. Yes. But ground ivy is one of the tougher weeds to control. It is just one of more than 50 common lawn weeds that we control in late spring. As soon as they are gone, we begin watching for new weeds to pop up, and if they do, we stop them before they can get a foothold. (And there's no charge for this follow-up service as a full program customer.)

Q. Why won't my weeds die?

A. Our three-way, liquid weed controls are the most effective available. The weeds begin to curl and wither in 2-3 days, but it may take up to ten days before they are gone completely. Still, unusually hot weather, a heavy rain within 24 hours of treatment, or mowing immediately after treatment can reduce control. The good news is that as a full program customer, you can simply give us a call and we'll be out to retreat in 48 hours….at no extra cost to you!

Q. Should I water after my lawn application?

A. No. While light watering or a brief shower should not seriously impact the weed control treatment, it is best to leave the control material on the weed until it is absorbed. This process usually requires at least 24 hours.

Q. Can I mow the same day my lawn is treated?

A. If only fertilizer was applied, you may mow immediately. If, however, weed control was applied, do not mow for at least 24 hours. Refer to your treatment invoice for application details. As always, call our office if you have any questions.

Q. How long should we stay off the lawn after treatment?

A. If your lawn only received a Real Green granular fertilizer application, you can begin lawn activity right away. If, however, a liquid weed control was applied, please stay off the grass until the liquid has dried. Depending on the temperature, humidity and wind, drying should take from one to several hours.

Q. I have beetles on my lawn and in the shrubs…does this mean I will have grubs?

A. Yes. The beetle is the adult stage of the insect. After defoliating the ornamentals, shrubs and some trees, the beetle lays eggs in the soil. In a few days, grubs will hatch and begin feeding on grass roots. If you are on our Complete Care Program, you are protected with Real Green Grub Ex. If not, call our office now for a protective treatment or lawn inspection.

Q. Fleas make our dog Bobo's life miserable every summer. Can you help us?

A. Tell Bobo we can help! We can treat your lawn in summer as an optional Alacarte service to control fleas and ticks that go after household pets. Bobo can get some relief.

Q. How can we keep our neighbor's dandelions from spreading into our lawn?

A. The best defense against dandelions is a thick carpet of grass .….so thick it doesn't give the dandelion seeds a chance to sprout. That's one reason why Real Green Lawn Care focuses on improving turf density. During the season we constantly look for new weed invaders and knock them out if they appear.

Q. We've had disappointments with lawn services in the past ... why should we think Real Green Lawn Care will be any different?

A. First, we use only professional grade fertilizers ... the best in the world ... and the same ones used on championship golf courses.

Second, all the work is done by Real Green professionals…experts who have been thoroughly trained by Real Green.

And third, our Real Green specialists are continually evaluated by our company on the quality of the lawns they service. It is a responsibility they never take lightly, for it is the basis for their raises and promotions.

Q. Why did the Real Green technician make the weed control application on a rainy day?

A. If the weed control was applied in a light shower, results should still be satisfactory. The weed control is foliar absorbed, being taken in through pores in the leaf. As long as the material is not washed off the leaf, control will occur. If you do not see leaf curling in 10 days, please call the office for a free re-treatment.

Q. We joined the Real Green Lawn Care family last year, including your Tree & Shrub Service. We love the service, but we can't understand why your lawn specialist doesn't treat our landscape plants while he's here. Wouldn't it be cheaper than sending a separate truck and man out to treat our landscape?

A. Cheaper ... yes. But not as effective. Your trees and shrubs require different care than your lawn. So they require people trained in that specialty. Plus special equipment ... remember the lawn is fed from above ground, while the landscape plants receive their feeding using special root zone injection equipment that provides immediate and long-lasting results.
